Vocal Remover FAQ

What does the MusiGens vocal remover do?

It separates the vocal track from the instrumental backing of a song. A second mode splits a song into individual stems — vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments.

Can I upload my own audio file to remove vocals?

Not yet. The vocal remover currently works on songs you generated with the MusiGens AI Song Maker. Generate a song first, then open it from the music library to run separation.

What is the difference between Vocal / Instrumental and Multi-stem?

Vocal / Instrumental returns two files: the vocals and everything else. Multi-stem returns separate files for vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments — useful for remix, mashups, and DAW production.

How long does vocal separation take?

Most tracks finish within one to three minutes. Multi-stem mode usually takes longer than the basic Vocal / Instrumental split because it produces more files.

Do separated stems include the original AI vocals?

Yes. The vocal stem contains the original AI vocals from your generated song. You can re-sing over the instrumental stem or rework the vocals separately in your DAW.

Can I use separated stems commercially?

Commercial usage follows the same license as the source generation. Songs generated on Pro plans come with commercial rights; free-tier generations are for personal, non-commercial use.

How many credits does vocal separation cost?

Vocal / Instrumental separation costs 10 credits per song. Multi-stem separation costs 50 credits per song because it returns more files and requires deeper processing.

Where do I download the separated stems?

Open the vocal separation dialog on the original track in your music library. Once the job finishes, each stem appears as its own row with an individual download button.
